Yemmy, born on March 9th, 1984 in Ado Ekiti, Nigeria, is a choir director, gospel singer, and songwriter. He is commonly referred to as Opeyemi Ige Ayodele, but his popular name is Yemmy. In 2019, he founded The Family of Eight group (TFOE) in Doha-Qatar, where he is best known for his leadership.
Yemmy organizes an annual music event tagged TFOE Musical Concert, as well as a monthly music event called In-House. He has graced several gospel events and ministered in various countries, including Evang. Kemi Babalola’s musical album (Dara Funmi, Segan mi Dogo, Iwe Orin, and many more), New covenant Qatar (NCC) Special Guest for annual anniversary event, Grace Covenant Chapel Doha Qatar “Maranatha Days 2021,” and Full Gospel Sanctuary Doha Qatar “All Round Flourishing” 2021, and EQAC Family program 2018 also weekly worship hour, among others.
Despite being raised in a family of six, where his parents were farmers, Yemmy wasn’t born with a silver spoon. He attended primary and part of secondary school in his hometown Ise-Ekiti before moving to Lagos in the early 2000s. While in Lagos, he completed his secondary education at Oke-Ira Grammar School.
Due to the high cost of education, his parents could no longer afford to pay his school fees. Hence, he took up a trade as a helper to his brother Mr. Tayo, who was a tiling works master. He started as a labourer and quickly learned the trade and mastered laying all kinds of tiles, marbles, granites, and so on.
Yemmy has a registered a company in Nigeria named Sample & Co Finishing Contractor, known for its outstanding finishing that has made him one of the successful building finishing companies in Lagos and Nigeria at large.
In 2010, Yemmy got his big break when he personally did Design Union Managing Director Mr. Thony’s House & Castle & Temple Managing Director Mr. Ademola Folarin’s House.
Yemmy is a member of the choir in his local church in Lagos, Nigeria, and the Choir Master at Higher Life Christian Center (HLCC) Doha Qatar. He got married to his beautiful wife Titilayo in 2015 and currently resides abroad with his wife and his children.
